A2X logo

A2X

Posts Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, and PayPal settlements as summary journals into QuickBooks Online or Xero.

Best for

Marketplace sellers and their bookkeepers who keep QuickBooks Online or Xero and want closed settlements posted as summary journals that match the bank deposit.

Not ideal if

Anyone who needs A2X to replace the ledger, who wants every order in QuickBooks, who will not leave Desktop, or whose job is sales tax filing rather than payout journals.

Standout

One journal per payout, built to match the bank deposit, so QuickBooks Online or Xero is not flooded with order lines.

About A2X

A2X is not the ledger. You connect Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, or PayPal. It reads each closed payout, splits sales, fees, refunds, and tax, and posts one summary journal into QuickBooks Online or Xero that is meant to match the bank deposit. You still close in those files. Sage Business Cloud and NetSuite are named live connectors. QuickBooks Desktop is an IIF export, documented for Amazon, not a browser sync.

It sits next to QuickBooks or Xero, the opposite of Kick (a replacement ledger). Synder covers processors such as Stripe and PayPal and markets a faster, line-level sync. ConnectBooks adds Desktop and per-SKU inventory in the books on higher plans. Webgility is the heavier order-level plus inventory suite. TaxJar is sales tax calculation and filing, which A2X does not replace.

People who stick usually sell on marketplaces, keep an accountant on QuickBooks Online or Xero, and want the payout to match the bank without dumping every order into the file. They stay because the settlement journal is the close, not a daily sales feed that later has to be reversed.

What people who used it say

What they tend to like

  • Payout matches the bank, not a pile of orders

Sellers stay because native QuickBooks connectors dump every sale and then the deposit will not match.

  • Support that will sit through mapping

Shopify App Store reviews from Sep 2026 name onboarding people and fast chat, including multi-store and multi-currency setups.

  • Several stores into one QuickBooks or Xero file

Merchants use separate A2X accounts per channel or currency and still post into one organization.

What they hesitate about

  • The bill climbs with channels and volume

A seller on Etsy, Amazon, and Shopify asked whether ~$110/mo was still worth it. Amazon/Xero threads call the ladder steep for small sellers.

  • Mapping work before the first clean post

Account and tax mapping is the slow step. Trial mode will not keep fetching new payouts until you subscribe.

  • Desktop is extra friction

Amazon Desktop users upload a chart of accounts and import an IIF per settlement. Online auto-post is simpler.

Map accounts and tax first. Review each closed settlement (or turn on auto-post), then match the journal to the bank deposit in QuickBooks Online or Xero. A payout that crosses month-end becomes two journals plus a carried-balance account so the deposit still ties out.

The CPA works in the QuickBooks Online or Xero file. Share that file, or invite them as an A2X user. A raw data file is attached to the journal as an audit trail. A2X does not e-file 1099s or the return. US sales tax is often calculated outside QuickBooks.

Features

Settlement journal that matches the payout

A2X waits for the marketplace or store to pay you, then posts one summarized journal (two if the payout crosses a month-end) so the last line matches the bank deposit. It does not write each order as its own invoice. Gateways on a supported store can get a separate entry; you still book those fees.

Map sales, fees, tax, and refunds once

You map each transaction type to a QuickBooks or Xero account and a tax rate (or no tax). US Amazon sellers often leave tax calculation outside QuickBooks and use a tool such as TaxJar. Assisted mapping is documented for Amazon and Shopify in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand.

QuickBooks Online and Xero, plus Sage and NetSuite

Online files connect in the browser. You review a settlement, send it, then match the journal to the bank line. Auto-post is available after setup. Sage Business Cloud and NetSuite are named live connectors. QuickBooks Desktop uses an Amazon IIF import, not a live sync.

COGS journal, not an inventory system (not Mini)

Plans above Mini can post a summarized COGS entry that moves value from inventory asset to COGS for that payout. You upload SKU costs or pull them from a sheet or an IMS. It does not replace a warehouse system. Support (22 Jun 2026) says COGS and FBA inventory skip Mini.

Multi-channel on one bill

A2X Multi starts at $89/mo for 2 channels and 1,000 combined orders. Higher Multi cards add channels and volume. Two tiny Mini plans can be cheaper than Multi if both stay under 200 orders and you do not need COGS.

Three posted settlements on the trial

The trial includes full features and three settlements you can post. Official copy says there is no time limit. Trial mode fetches the last 5–10 payouts and will not pull new ones until you subscribe. History depth after you pay depends on the plan.

Pricing

Published floors on 12 Sep 2026: Mini $29/mo (1 channel, 200 orders), Shopify Basic $45/mo (500 orders), Amazon Starter $59/mo (1,000 orders), Walmart from $79/mo (2,000 orders), Multi 1K $89/mo (2 channels, 1,000 combined). A 5-person / ~500-order Shopify shop pays Basic, not Mini. Two channels under 1,000 combined pay Multi 1K, not 2 x $29. The live stub's flat $29 per channel is only the Mini floor. Partner discounts exist for firms and are applied by A2X, not on the public pricing page.
