Our take
- Best for
- A business or firm that already invoices in QuickBooks Online or Xero and wants reminders, call notes, and payment chasing off a personal inbox.
- Not ideal if
- A small firm that wants a practice portal and job system, or a company whose problem is paying vendor bills rather than collecting customer invoices.
- Standout
- Reminders, replies, and payer notes stay on the invoice, with plan caps you can read before you subscribe.
About Chaser
Chaser pulls open invoices from QuickBooks Online, Xero, or another ledger on its integrations page, then sends the reminder schedule you set. Replies stay on the invoice. SMS and auto-calls draw from plan credits. Chaser Pay can take the payment. The books stay in the ledger you connected.
This is collections software, not a practice system. Chaser does not publish a separate practice app. A firm can still run it on its own fee invoices, and the site asks if you work at an accounting firm. TaxDome and Canopy can bill a client inside the portal. They are not a debtor workflow with payer ratings and a forecast. Double (formerly Keeper) closes the file. Bill.com and Melio are how you pay vendors. Chaser is how you chase invoices that already exist.
Teams keep it because the reminder goes out without someone rewriting the same email, and the thread is on the invoice instead of a personal inbox. You still choose the schedule and the wording. A thank-you after payment is a listed feature, which is the part customers actually notice.

Chaser does not close the month. It chases invoices that already sit in the ledger. A payment still has to land in QuickBooks Online or Xero. The QuickBooks page does not say Chaser Pay writes that payment back.
Reminder history and payer notes are an AR record. They are not a trial balance or a tax package.
Features
- Sync the open invoices, then remind
- Connect QuickBooks Online or Xero and Chaser pulls invoices and customer details. The QuickBooks page says you sign up, connect, and start from an in-app guide. The integrations page calls the sync two-way. The QuickBooks page does not say that a Chaser Pay receipt marks the invoice paid.
- Schedules within the plan caps
- Compact includes 4 users, 30 follow-up templates, and 4 automated workflows. Core and Complete lift those caps to unlimited users, templates, and workflows. You can still tailor wording and send a thank-you when a payment lands. That thank-you is listed on every compared plan.
- SMS, calls, and email connections
- SMS and auto-call credits are 100 a month on Compact, 600 on Core, and 1,200 on Complete. Email integrations include 1, 2, or 4 connections on those same plans. In-app calls, payment plans, disputes, and late-payment fees are listed as available on all three.
- Multi-entity and the forecast
- Multi-entity is not on Compact. It is available on Core and Complete. The receivables forecast is a paid add-on on Compact and Core and included on Complete. The add-on price is not printed on the detailed breakdown.
- Take the payment in Chaser Pay
- The detailed pricing page adds a 0.50% Chaser fee on top of Stripe. In the USD rows, domestic cards total 3.40% + $0.30 and ACH Direct Debit totals 1.30%, with the Stripe portion of ACH capped at $5 and the Chaser fee still applied. Debt collection, if you escalate, is a separate success fee.

Pick something else instead of Chaser
TaxDome
Pick TaxDome instead if the firm wants client invoices, the portal, and the job pipeline in one system rather than a collections product.
Bill.com
Pick Bill.com instead if the pain is approving and paying vendor bills, not reminding customers about invoices you already sent.
Melio
Pick Melio instead if you need to pay bills by ACH, not collect the invoices sitting in accounts receivable.
