Our take
- Best for
- A solo bookkeeper or small practice that spends the first week of the month emailing clients for bank statements, card statements, and receipts.
- Not ideal if
- You need those files read and posted into QuickBooks Online or Xero, or you want client jobs, time tracking, and your own invoices in the same subscription. CloseDock only collects the documents.
- Standout
- Clients upload from a private link with no account, and reminders stop the moment the checklist is complete.
About CloseDock
CloseDock is the monthly file chase for a bookkeeper. You set each client's checklist once, starting from the Monthly Close template (bank statements, credit cards, payroll, receipts), and pick the day it goes out. Each month the client gets an email with a private link, opens it on their phone, and uploads each file onto the matching row. They do not create an account. Reminders go out on day 3, day 7, and day 14, and they stop when every row is filled. You download the files from your dashboard and finish the close in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or whichever ledger you already use.
Content Snare is the other no-login request link in this directory. It adds questions, an approve-or-reject on a single item, and an export to Google Drive or Dropbox. Dext and Hubdoc read receipts and bills and publish them into QuickBooks Online or Xero. Double is where a firm works those client files. CloseDock stops when the files are in your dashboard. Recurring checklists, the three-reminder sequence, and the month-by-month dashboard are on Solo and Firm. Free is 3 clients, one-off requests, and one reminder.
Bookkeepers stick with it when statements arrive as email attachments, WhatsApp photos, and Dropbox links. The dashboard shows received, missing, and overdue, so you call the late clients and leave the rest alone. The client only has to open the link in the email.
Pricing
Price follows the bookkeeper's client count. Free is $0 for 3 clients, and it only covers one-off requests plus one reminder. A repeating monthly close is Solo at $19/mo for up to 25 clients, or Firm at $39/mo with no client cap. There is no per-seat or per-transaction price. Billing is monthly in USD through Whop. Cancel there and you keep the paid plan until the period ends, then the account drops to Free. No annual price is listed.

You still categorize and reconcile in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or another ledger. CloseDock shows which files arrived. You download them from the dashboard and do the close yourself.
There is no report package. You hand over the downloaded statements, receipts, and payroll reports, and the closed file still comes from the ledger.
Features
- Send a no-login upload link
- Each request has a private link. The client opens it on a phone and uploads the file onto that checklist row. They do not create an account or install an app.
- Repeat the checklist each month
- On Solo and Firm you build the list once from the Monthly Close template (bank statements, credit cards, payroll, receipts) and pick the send day. It goes out again next month. Free is one-off requests only, capped at 3 active clients.
- Reminders that stop when the list is complete
- Solo and Firm send a nudge on day 3, another on day 7, and a firmer one on day 14. They stop as soon as every item is in. Free includes one automatic reminder. A client who ignores the emails is flagged overdue, so you know who to call.
- Download the files into your close
- Files sit in private cloud storage. You download them while signed in and use them in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or another ledger. Direct connections to those ledgers are on the roadmap, so nothing posts into the books for you.
- Firm: unlimited clients and your logo
- Firm adds unlimited clients, your logo on the client portal, and priority support, on top of everything in Solo. Solo stops at 25 active clients and does not include the logo. Checkout and cancellation run on Whop. When a paid period ends, the account drops back to Free.
Platforms
Audience
Pick something else instead of CloseDock
Content Snare
Pick Content Snare instead if the request is more than a monthly file list: questions, an approve-or-reject on a single item, and an export to Google Drive or Dropbox.
Dext
Pick Dext instead if the receipts and bills should be read and published into QuickBooks Online or Xero, not downloaded as a folder of files.
Double
Pick Double instead if the firm should work the QuickBooks Online or Xero file itself, not only collect the documents before close.
