Our take
- Best for
- Hotel and multi-unit operators who need the night audit, deposits, and owner reports in one ledger.
- Not ideal if
- A single service business with no PMS or POS, or a team that only needs receipt capture into QuickBooks.
- Standout
- A nightly read of Opera and other property-management night audits, posted to one USALI chart and matched to the bank.
About Docyt
Docyt keeps the books for a hotel, restaurant group, retailer, or franchise operator. Each night it reads the property-management or point-of-sale reports, posts revenue, tax, and deposits to a USALI chart, and matches card batches and payouts to the bank. Bills, corporate cards, and owner reports sit on those same books. If you keep another statutory ledger, Docyt can sync summarized or detailed entries to QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite.
QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Kick are general ledgers. They do not read an Opera night audit or map a portfolio onto one hotel chart. Dext, Hubdoc, and Veryfi capture receipts and bills into those ledgers. Nanonets and DocuClipper extract invoices or PDF statements. Docyt's work is the property books: night audit, merchant deposits, intercompany, and a morning flash. Bill pay, corporate cards, and 1099 filing are a separate payments suite.
Operators who stay have many properties, brand systems, and a close that should be a review of exceptions. A person still owns the exceptions. Portfolio plans include a migration off M3, Sage Intacct, Inn-Flow, Nimble, Aptech, NetSuite, or QuickBooks. The books can live in Docyt, with QuickBooks Online or Xero as an optional sync rather than the only file.
Pricing
Accounting Suite starts at $299 per property per month, unlimited users, integrations included, billed monthly on an annual plan. Daily Flash standalone starts at $100 per location per month. Catch-up is $200 per month of backlog. Enterprise, the Payments Suite, and the full Business Intelligence Suite have no published dollar price. Check and ACH fees are on the order form. Corporate cards have no monthly fee. A five-person shop that is not a property business is the wrong buyer at this sticker. Restaurant and retail groups are priced per location on the same suites.

The Accounting Suite keeps bank, card, and revenue activity reconciled through the month and leaves exceptions for review. You still sign off. Old unreconciled months are a separate catch-up quote.
A CPA can take Docyt's ledger, or summarized entries synced to QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Intacct, or NetSuite. 1099 filing is on the Payments Suite, not on Accounting alone.
Features
- Post the night audit to a USALI chart
- Docyt reads night-audit reports from the PMS pages it lists, including Oracle OPERA Cloud through OHIP or OPERA 5 end-of-day exports. It posts rooms and other revenue, taxes, guest and city ledger movements, and deposits. Every property maps to the same USALI chart. Restaurant and retail plans use the POS in place of a PMS. The pricing page says nightly PMS and POS posting is on the Accounting Suite.
- Match deposits and leave the exceptions
- After the night audit, Docyt waits for card settlements, cash deposits, and OTA payouts, then flags short deposits, chargebacks, and commission differences. Bank and card reconciliation is on the Accounting Suite. You still review the flags. The site does not publish a list of every card processor by name on the pages used here.
- Keep Docyt's ledger or sync a statutory file
- The Opera page says Docyt posts to its own ledger and can sync summarized or detailed entries to QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Xero if you keep one of those as the statutory general ledger. The same page says most customers replace the old ledger. Intercompany and multi-entity reporting are on the Accounting Suite.
- Pay bills, issue cards, and file 1099s
- The Payments Suite covers invoice capture and coding, approval routing, ACH, check, and card payments, corporate cards tied to budgets, receivables, vendor records, W-9 collection, and 1099 filing. Corporate cards have no monthly fee. Check and ACH fees are transaction-based and disclosed on the order form, not on the pricing page. The Payments Suite price itself is not published.
- Read a daily flash from reconciled numbers
- Daily Flash is on the Business Intelligence Suite and is also sold standalone. The Opera page describes a morning flash from reconciled actuals. Budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning are on that suite. Labor cost is reported from payroll data. Docyt does not describe itself as the system that runs payroll.
- Catch up old months at a separate rate
- Catch-up accounting is $200 per month caught up: historical bank, card, PMS, and POS import, then categorization and reconciliation. Portfolio migration is included on portfolio plans and described as live within 24 hours of receiving exports. Standard onboarding is included. Hotel plans are annual, billed monthly, with unlimited users and no exit penalties.
