Our take
- Best for
- US Shopify and Amazon inventory brands that want the books done in an ecommerce-native ledger and will leave QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Not ideal if
- A service shop, a CPA who will only open a live QuickBooks file, or anyone whose work is not straightforward ecommerce (wholesale deposits, PayPal vendor credits, multi-entity consolidations).
- Standout
- Three-way marketplace reconciliation plus optional FIFO inventory COGS in the same ledger their accountants close.
About Finaloop
Finaloop is the ledger and the bookkeeping team for ecommerce brands. You connect Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, banks, cards, and processors such as Stripe and PayPal. Their software maps orders, fees, refunds, and payouts to an ecommerce chart of accounts. On Full-Service, their accountants categorize leftover bank lines, run a three-way match (order to processor to bank deposit), and close. You review the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow in Finaloop. Help is explicit: they do not import QuickBooks or Xero history, and they do not keep a live file there.
That is the opposite of A2X, Synder, ConnectBooks, and Webgility, which sit next to QuickBooks Online or Xero and post settlements or orders into that file. Bench is the closer peer (humans close in their own software), but Bench is built for simpler cash books, not SKU COGS and marketplace fees. Bookkeeper360 and Pilot keep the QuickBooks Online (or Xero) file your CPA already opens. Kick is a DIY replacement ledger for US service shops, not FBA payouts.
People who stick usually left a generic bookkeeper who could not reconcile Shopify or Amazon settlements. They stay because the payout match and inventory COGS live in one place, and they can read a mid-month P&L without waiting on a monthly close. Founders on Reddit and the Shopify App Store cite that ecommerce-specific close. They also say reporting is thinner than QuickBooks and odd cases (PayPal vendor credits, mixed wholesale) still need a human journal.
Pricing
The only dollar on the official pricing page (12 Sep 2026) is Starter at $245/month, and only if annual gross revenue is at or under $1M and the brand is 4 years old or less. Shopify listing: same $245 card, plus a $995 starting card for 7–9 figure brands that the marketing pricing page does not publish. Everyone else gets a custom quote after a 30-minute call. Help (7 Sep 2025) still names Core and Premium and says price is one of six revenue bands, recalculated each quarter from trailing receipts, with 10% off annual billing and a one-time implementation fee (waived if books are already reconciled from January 1). Live BookkeepDIY still shows Core $245 and Premium $850; $850 is not on today's official page. Tax, InventoryIQ, analytics, data warehouse, and fractional CFO are extra. Catch-up months before the free window are billed at the monthly rate. Changing cash vs accrual later is $750. Subscription fees are non-refundable; cancel anytime, but year-end close needs an active subscription.
Starter
Early-stage brands at or under $1M annual gross revenue, in business 4 years or less. 14-day trial.
- Published floor on the official pricing page and Shopify listing
- Real-time P&L, balance sheet (after subscribe), and cash flow
- Ecommerce chart of accounts and channel reconciliation
- Inventory and COGS tracking (full InventoryIQ is a module)
- Unlimited email and chat support
- Must be ≤$1M AGR and ≤4 years in business
Full-Service
Brands with no internal finance team. Their accountants run the books on Finaloop. Price moves with revenue, complexity, and modules.
- Dedicated accounting and finance team
- Monthly finance review with an account manager
- AP/AR, accruals, inventory and COGS operations, month-end close
- Add inventory, analytics, data warehouse, tax, or fractional CFO
- 10% off if billed annually (help, 7 Sep 2025)
- Fee recalculated each quarter from trailing or annualized receipts
Platform
Brands that already have a finance team and want Finaloop as the ledger, not a bookkeeping seat.
- Same ecommerce accounting software as Full-Service
- Your team runs day-to-day; they still manage month-end and year-end close
- Unlimited users with role customization
- InventoryIQ, analytics, and data warehouse as modules
- MCP connection to Claude or ChatGPT (help)
- Same quarterly revenue-based pricing method

Their team (or yours on Platform) categorizes leftover lines, finishes missions, and closes in Finaloop. Help markets a 1–2 day close once you are live. You still have to answer questions and keep inventory POs current if you use InventoryIQ. Nothing writes back to QuickBooks or Xero.
Invite the tax preparer into Finaloop, or export reports and the general ledger to Google Sheets (one-shot or daily). Help: they do not import from or sync into QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite. 1099s are a tracker; you e-file through Tax1099 or a CPA. Tax return filing is an intro add-on, not in Starter.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Faster close than QuickBooks plus a bookkeeper
r/Accounting (Feb 2025): a 7-figure Amazon/Shopify shop called the books more real-time and the P&L more actionable after leaving QBO, with a couple dozen cards auto-categorized.
Shopify and Amazon payouts actually match
r/Bookkeeping (Jan 2024): a seller said the Shopify order and payout match is the reason they stayed after a steep learning curve. Shopify reviews (2026) repeat clean, current books.
Team answers ecommerce questions
Shopify App Store (11 Jun 2026, Name Stories): founder said they understand Shopify and e-commerce and reply when asked. Same theme on r/Bookkeeping after Bench paused.
What they hesitate about
Reporting is thin next to QuickBooks
Same r/Accounting thread: reporting is barebones and not very customizable; cash-flow forecasting is not built in; US/USD is the real fit.
Anything off the happy path stalls
r/Bookkeeping (Apr 2025): a six-month user liked live sales and InventoryIQ but said a PayPal vendor credit and other non-sales items became a mess, and they were still waiting on a CPA after finishing tax missions.
Billed a lot, human help did not show, no refund
Shopify 1-star (1 May 2026, Goat Armor): charged about $4,000, login and sync failed, asked to pay more for support, then pointed at a no-return policy. One review, not a pattern, but it matches the non-refundable subscription FAQ.
Features
- Connect stores, then match order to payout to bank
- Help: they sync Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, Stripe, Shop Pay, PayPal, and Afterpay, then reconcile the sales channel to the processor to the bank deposit. You see gross sales, shipping, discounts, refunds, merchant fees, and undeposited funds by channel. The store connection is read-only.
- Their accountants close, or your team on Platform
- Full-Service is their team on the books: categorization, accruals, AP/AR, inventory and COGS ops, and month-end. Platform is the same software for an in-house finance team. Starter is the published $245 plan for brands at or under $1M annual gross revenue that have been in business 4 years or less. Every plan includes email and chat support.
- InventoryIQ FIFO COGS and purchase orders
- InventoryIQ tracks POs, warehouses, landed cost, and FIFO COGS per SKU and channel. Help (Sep 2025) still calls this a Plus add-on priced by revenue. The public pricing page (12 Sep 2026) treats inventory as a module you add to Full-Service or Platform. Core-style books can still take landed costs you provide without the full PO tool.
- Cash or accrual P&L, then a completed balance sheet after you subscribe
- Help: cash or accrual is supported. The 14-day trial shows a P&L and cash flow for the onboarding month plus the two months before it. The completed balance sheet comes with a paid subscription. Changing cash vs accrual later is a $750 fee (getting-started FAQ).
- 1099 tracker; you file elsewhere
- A January 1099 Tracking page lists NEC, INT, MISC, and DIV payees from categorized transactions. You review, merge, and upload W-9s. Help (7 Jan 2026): Finaloop does not e-file 1099s. Most customers file through Tax1099 or their CPA.
- Catch-up, tax, and CFO are scoped on the sales call
- The trial includes the onboarding month plus two prior months. Earlier catch-up is charged at your monthly rate (often discounted). Tax and fractional CFO are add-ons: an intro to an ecommerce CPA or CFO, not included in Starter. Implementation is a one-time custom fee and can be waived if you already have fully reconciled books from January 1.

ConnectBooks

Bookkeeper360
Pick Bookkeeper360 instead if your CPA will only open a live QuickBooks Online or Xero file and you want published monthly or weekly service prices.
Bench
Pick Bench instead if you are a simpler US shop that wants humans to close cash books and does not need SKU COGS or marketplace fee mapping.
