FloQast
Close software for accounting teams: checklists, recs, and journal entries on your ERP, with a human sign-off.
Best for
In-house accounting teams and larger CAS practices that already have an ERP and a real month-end close with preparers and reviewers.
Not ideal if
Owners who close one QuickBooks Online or Xero file themselves. FloQast is quote-only close software, not a DIY ledger.
Standout
Recs can stay in Excel and still tie to the live ERP balance, with a flag when a late journal entry knocks the rec out after sign-off.
About FloQast
FloQast is close software for in-house accounting teams and larger client-accounting practices. It is not the ledger. You connect NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Xero, SAP, Workday, or Microsoft. FloQast pulls trial balances and transactions, runs the close checklist, matches high-volume reconciliations, and can prepare journal entries that post back to the ERP after a person approves them. Reconciliations can stay in Excel and stay tied to the current GL balance. You still close and lock the period in the ERP.
That is the opposite of Kick (a replacement ledger) and closer to Double (close work on the live file). Double is priced per QuickBooks Online or Xero client for bookkeeping firms. FloQast sells quote-only close, compliance, and reporting packages to controllers and CAS practices. Numeric is the closer same-job peer. DataSnipper stays in Excel for audit evidence, not the close calendar. QuickBooks Online remains the books of record if that is where you already live.
People who stick have a real close: multiple entities, a preparer and reviewer path, and auditors who want evidence in one place. Accountants on public forums like the checklist and the option to leave recs in Excel. They also say it is only as good as the setup.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Close checklist and dashboard
Controllers can see status without chasing every rec owner.
Recs can stay in Excel
Accountants contrast that with tools that force the rec into a new system.
Out-of-balance alerts after late journals
A rec that was signed off gets flagged when the GL moves.
What they hesitate about
Only as good as the setup
It is not plug-and-play. The first closes still take process redesign.
Heavy for a simple close
Reddit accountants call it a middle-market tool; a simple single-entity shop will not use the depth.
Native ERP close tools can be enough
Some NetSuite shops prefer a native close product to avoid another sync.

This is the product. You run the checklist, recs, and journal approvals in FloQast, then lock the period in the ERP.
Auditors can be given access to tasks, recs, and attached evidence. There is no year-end tax package from FloQast itself.

Features
Close checklist and live status
Define close tasks, owners, and deadlines across entities. The dashboard shows what is done, what is late, and where the bottleneck is.
Reconciliations tied to the live GL
Keep recs in Excel if that is how the team already works. FloQast pulls the current trial-balance amount and flags the rec when a late journal entry moves the GL after sign-off.
AI transaction matching
Match bank, card, intercompany, and subledger lines across sources. You accept or edit matching rules; unmatched items go to an exception queue. Sold on the Close Automation package.
Journal entries with a human post
Create, clone, reverse, and validate journals, attach support, route preparer and reviewer, then post to the ERP. Nothing hits the books without approval.
Requests and evidence in one close
Request Agent chases bank statements, inventory counts, and other PBC files so the close is not a pile of email threads. Evidence stays on the task for audit.
Multi-entity reporting and compliance
FloQast Reporting covers intercompany recs and consolidated statements. Connected Compliance and Compliance Pro add SOX control testing and evidence collection. FloQast Transform is the no-code AI-agent builder.
Pricing
Contact sales. Official FAQ: no per-user fee; price is customized to scope and scale. A 5-person shop doing its own books should not be on this quote. Do not use third-party dollar estimates.

Platforms
Audience
Pick something else instead of FloQast
Double
Pick Double instead if a bookkeeping firm closes many QuickBooks Online or Xero clients and wants published per-client prices.
Numeric
Pick Numeric instead if you want the same close-automation job and prefer to compare a closer peer before a FloQast quote.
DataSnipper
Pick DataSnipper instead if the work is Excel sample testing and source-document evidence, not the month-end calendar.
QuickBooks Online
Stay in QuickBooks Online if you close one set of books yourself. FloQast sits on an ERP; it does not replace QBO.
