Numeric
A month-end close workspace on QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct. The books stay in the ERP.
Best for
In-house controller teams that already have an ERP and need a shared close: checklist, recs, and flux, not another ledger.
Not ideal if
Owners who do their own books. Essentials has no live ERP, and Growth or Enterprise is sold to a close team with preparers and reviewers.
Standout
One workspace for the checklist, recs, and flux, with live ERP balances on Growth and NetSuite journal-entry posting on Enterprise.
About Numeric
Numeric is close software for in-house accounting teams. It is not a ledger. You connect QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct (Growth and above), then run the month-end checklist, reconciliations, and flux in Numeric. Trial balances sync from the ERP. Workpapers live in Google Drive, SharePoint, or Box and tie to each account. When a rec ties out under your materiality threshold, you can auto-submit it. Cash matching and NetSuite journal-entry posting sit on Enterprise. You still close and lock the period in the ERP.
It sits next to the books, like Double, not instead of them like Kick. Double is built for bookkeeping firms that close many QuickBooks Online or Xero clients and bills per client. Numeric is built for one company's controller team (or a multi-entity group) and bills per user. FloQast is the older close-suite incumbent and is quote-only. DataSnipper stays in Excel and traces figures back to source PDFs; it does not run your close checklist.
Teams that stick have a real close: preparers and reviewers, a flux pack, and enough accounts that a spreadsheet checklist breaks down. Named customers on Numeric's site are high-growth finance orgs (Brex, Plaid, Wealthfront), not a five-person shop where the owner codes the bank feed. Controllers who stay usually want the close, the recs, and the flux in one workspace once Growth or Enterprise is live. Essentials alone is a close project manager with Slack and a technical AI assistant; live ERP starts on Growth.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Cheaper and faster to stand up than FloQast
r/Accounting comments cite a shorter implementation and a lower bill than the incumbent close suite.
Checklist, rec compare, and flux in one place
Users describe mapping the close, comparing rec balances to the GL, and running flux without a separate spreadsheet stack.
Close stays on the ERP you already have
The books do not move. Numeric sits on QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct.
What they hesitate about
Essentials is a checklist, not close automation
Live ERP, auto-recs, and flux start on Growth. Cash matching is Enterprise.
QBO and Xero are shallower than NetSuite
Official QBO page is trial-balance sync. Numeric's own comparison blog says Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage Intacct connect at trial-balance level, with transaction-line depth on NetSuite.
Independent owner corpus is thin
Public forum mentions are sparse. FloQast is still the default name people reach for first.

This is the product. Growth and above pull trial balances from the ERP, you reconcile against workpapers and draft flux, and you still lock the period in the ERP. Cash matching and NetSuite JE posting are Enterprise.
Give auditors a read-only login and the timestamped audit trail, plus linked workpapers. There is no year-end tax package from Numeric.

Features
Close checklist with preparers and reviewers
On Essentials and above. Assign tasks, business-day due dates, dependencies, review notes, and segregation of duties. Save the close as a template for the next period. Slack alerts and a daily digest are on Essentials.
Reconcile accounts against workpapers (Growth+)
Connect the ERP and file storage. Compare GL balances to Excel or Google Sheets workpapers, set materiality, and auto-submit recs that tie out. Numeric flags the account if a new transaction knocks it out of balance.
Flux analysis (Growth+)
Build flux reports by account, department, vendor, or entity. AI drafts first-pass variance explanations from templates you set. Unlimited flexible flux sits on Enterprise.
Cash matching and NetSuite journal entries (Enterprise)
Match bank lines (Plaid, Finicity, MX, or SFTP) to the GL. Draft and post correcting journal entries to NetSuite with preparer-reviewer controls. Pricing page puts this on the Cash Management product, Enterprise only.
Multi-entity close and auditor access
Track close pacing across entities from one dashboard. Grant auditors a read-only login and a timestamped audit trail.
MCP for close agents
Connect Claude or ChatGPT at https://api.numeric.io/mcp to query the workspace, edit tasks, and pull reports. Documented as a platform capability, not a separately priced SKU on the public pricing page.
Pricing
A five-person close team on Essentials pays $150 per month and still has no live ERP. The useful product for QuickBooks Online or Xero teams is Growth (quote-only). NetSuite cash matching and JE posting are Enterprise (quote-only). A DIY owner should not be on this price list.

Pick something else instead of Numeric
FloQast
Pick FloQast instead if you want the incumbent close suite and your auditors or board already expect that name.
Double
Pick Double instead if a firm closes many QuickBooks Online or Xero clients and should pay per client, not per seat on one company's close.
DataSnipper
Pick DataSnipper instead if the job is tracing Excel workpapers back to source PDFs, not running the month-end checklist.
