Our take
- Best for
- A UK or European company that wants employee cards, supplier invoices, and reimbursements coded into Xero, DATEV, or an ERP.
- Not ideal if
- A US shop that needs ACH bill pay, QuickBooks Online as the center of the books, and 1099s.
- Standout
- One Mastercard program, one invoice queue, and one reimbursement flow, with unlimited users and a DATEV path for German books.
About Moss
Moss is spend software for companies in the UK and Europe. You issue Mastercard corporate cards, virtual or physical, collect employee reimbursements (including mileage and per diems), and run supplier invoices through approval. Receipts are photographed in the app, emailed, or pulled from Gmail or Outlook. Moss codes the spend, including VAT rates, then syncs or exports it to the accounting system you already use. Project and cost-centre tracking is listed on the AI accounting add-on. Supplier payments and reimbursements go out as Pay with Moss from a Moss wallet, or as a SEPA file for reimbursements.
Ramp and Brex are US card programs with US underwriting and a sync aimed at US books. Bill.com and Melio pay US vendors by ACH. Moss is the European shape of that stack: a card, a wallet, and an invoice queue, with DATEV for German firms and cost centres in the coding. It does not replace the ledger. Moss Credit, the repay-later option, is offered in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. The other documented way to fund spend is a debit wallet. Rydoo is the closer comparison if you only need expense reports and you do not want a card program.
Finance teams keep it because cards, invoices, and out-of-pocket claims share one approval trail and one coding setup, and the platform fee does not grow with headcount. Employees can put a card in Apple Pay or Google Wallet and spend inside the limit you set. Month-end is still the sync or export into Xero, DATEV, Business Central, NetSuite, or whichever ledger you connected.
Pricing
You can start free on cards or accounts payable. Paid use is a platform fee for the modules, plus a volume fee on card transactions, invoices, and reimbursements. Users are not billed per seat. No pound, euro, or dollar figure is on the English, UK, or German pricing pages. Moss Credit is only offered in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, after a check. Interchange and FX rates were not published. A small team cannot price the second year from the website.
Free start
The English and German pricing pages say you can start free with corporate cards or accounts payable. Caps, a time limit, and which controls are withheld are not printed.

- Advanced controlling, procurement, and ERP as add-ons

Receipts and invoices are coded in Moss, then synced or exported. The close, including VAT returns in the local ledger, still happens in Xero, DATEV, Business Central, or the ERP.
A European accountant can take a Xero, DATEV, or ERP file with coded card, invoice, and reimbursement activity. A US CPA package with 1099s was not documented.
Features
- Issue a Mastercard with a limit
- Virtual cards are unlimited and can be created for a merchant, project, or single use. Physical cards are available. Controls include per-card and per-transaction limits, merchant category, and time restrictions. Cards can be added to Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Moss says there is no annual card fee and no per-user card fee.
- Fund the card with credit or a debit wallet
- Moss Debit draws from the Moss wallet. Moss Credit is repayable daily, weekly, or within 30 days, with 0% interest if you repay on time, and it requires a credit check. The legal center limits Moss Credit to Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. Eligibility applies.
- Collect the receipt without a chase email
- Spenders submit a photo in the app or by email. Receipt Finder can pull receipts from Gmail or Outlook. The AP and card modules both list AI extraction. Reimbursements support mileage and per diems, then pay from the Moss balance or a SEPA file, with a second approver on payment.
- Approve and pay supplier invoices
- Invoices go through multi-step approval, can auto-match to a purchase order, and can be scheduled in one payment list. Pay with Moss sends the payment from the Moss wallet. In the EEA that wallet is provided by Moss GmbH, with Airwallex named for the onward payment. In the UK, Airwallex (UK) provides the wallet and Pay with Moss.
- Push coded spend to the ledger you already keep
- The integrations page lists live connections including Xero, DATEV, NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, and SAP Business One, plus CSV paths such as Sage 50 and Sage 200. The card FAQ also names QuickBooks and Exact. Sage Intacct is marked coming soon. ERP dimensions are an add-on, not the free start.
