Quipu
Spain VeriFactu invoicing, receipt scans, and AEAT tax forms. No US edition. Most US shops should pick something else.
Best for
Spanish autónomos, small SL companies, and asesorías who need VeriFactu invoices, receipt scans, and AEAT models in one file, especially before the 2027 dates.
Not ideal if
A US shop whose CPA will only open QuickBooks, who needs 1099s or US payroll, or who banks at a US bank that is not on Quipu's 300-plus list.
Standout
VeriFactu-ready invoices plus photo receipts that fill the same IVA and IRPF models you download for Hacienda, at a published Spain list.
About Quipu
Quipu (sold as TeamSystem Quipu) is Spain invoicing and tax-form software. You create VeriFactu-ready invoices and quotes, photograph receipts, and on Solution you connect a Spanish or EU bank (Quipu names 300-plus banks). Lines match to invoices. Quipu fills Agencia Tributaria models (IVA 303 and 390, IRPF 111, 130, and others on the pricing table). You download them and upload them to Hacienda. Invite your asesor into the same file, or export Excel. Official integrations copy says Quipu does not replace the firm's A3 or Sage books; it sits next to them.
It does not sit on QuickBooks Online or Xero. There is no US edition. Bank feeds are those 300-plus connections, not Plaid to Chase or Mercury. The tax engine is Hacienda, not 1099s or a Schedule C. Wave and Kick are the US replacement ledgers in this directory. FreshBooks is US invoice-first. KashFlow and FreeAgent are the UK HMRC ledgers. Quipu's job is Spain invoices, receipt scans, and quarterly models in one login.
People who stick are usually Spanish autónomos and small SL companies, or asesorías that put the client on a shared file ahead of VeriFactu 2027. They stay for photo receipts, unlimited invoices on every plan, and models that fill from the same documents. US owners who land here should treat it as the wrong country, not a cheaper QuickBooks.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Simple Spain invoicing for an autónomo
r/AutonomosES names Quipu with Holded for a small shop around 100 invoices that does not want a heavy ERP. Official pages and the iOS app are built around invoices, tickets, and VeriFactu stages.
Photo receipts and a shared asesor file
Official OCR page: photo, email, or upload, then you confirm. Bookkeepers page: client and asesor see the same screen. That is the daily job, not a US CPA QBO login.
VeriFactu is why people are shopping now
r/AutonomosES threads treat Quipu and Holded as the Spain VeriFactu shortlist. Quipu's own calendar: companies January 2027, autónomos July 2027.
What they hesitate about
Fine for basic invoices, thin if you scale
r/finanzaspersonalesESP: Quipu is stable for simple billing and grows less with you; support is not the strong point. r/autonomos: one shop could not use it because of decimals and stayed on Invoice Ninja.
The interface feels dated next to newer Spain tools
r/AutonomosES: Quipu works, but the UI feels old compared with Holded or a Stripe-native VeriFactu add-on.
US tax work is not the product
No US company type, no 1099 e-file, and no US payroll on pages opened. Tax models are AEAT. Bank copy names 300-plus banks, none of them US.

Close is you or the asesor: confirm invoices and receipt scans, match the bank on Solution or Premium, then download IVA / IRPF models and upload them to Hacienda. Nothing writes back to QuickBooks. US payroll and 1099s are not in this file.
Invite the asesor into the same workspace, or export Excel. Official path into the firm's books is A3 or Sage, not QuickBooks Online. Quipu does not e-file a US income tax return or 1099s. Spanish models are generated here; you (or the firm) still present them to Hacienda.

Features
Send VeriFactu invoices and quotes
Create unlimited invoices, quotes, proformas, and credit notes on every plan. Recurring invoices are on the comparison table. Solution adds orders and delivery notes. Invoices can carry the VeriFactu QR and hash. Mandatory dates on Quipu's own page: companies January 2027, autónomos July 2027.
Photograph the receipt; you still approve it
Upload from the phone app, the desktop, or a dedicated inbox. High-confidence scans land in 1–2 minutes. Lower-confidence ones go to a human review (12–24 hours). You confirm the line before it posts. Starter: 30 automatic scans a month. Solution: 250. Premium: 350. Extra pack of 50: €10. The 15-day trial includes 10 scans.
Connect the bank and match the invoice (Solution+)
Starter has no bank connection. Solution: up to 3 accounts and a suggested match you confirm. Premium: up to 10 accounts, automatic reconciliation, and bank remittances. Extra accounts: €5 each. Official cobros page: 300-plus banks. No US bank is named.
Fill Spanish tax models; you still file them
Every published plan lists IVA 303 and 390, IRPF and withholding models 111, 115, 130, 180, 190, plus 347 and 349. Issued and received invoice books are on the table. You review, download, and upload the file to Hacienda. Quipu does not e-file a US return or 1099s. Corporate tax models 200 / 202 / 220 sit with the Premium treasury block.
Share the file with the asesor, not QuickBooks
Invite the firm into the same workspace so they see invoices and receipts as you add them. Official integrations page: Quipu does not replace the accounting system; it syncs to A3 (Wolters Kluwer) and Sage. Import and export are Excel. There is no live QuickBooks Online or Xero sync.
Stripe invoices, API, and a Premium treasury board
Solution adds native Stripe (invoice or ticket per Stripe charge), Shopify / WooCommerce / PrestaShop, Zapier, PayPal, a payroll importer, and 500 income/expense API calls a month. Premium: 2,000 API calls, automatic categorisation, project analytics, a cash-flow dashboard, and a 5-year forecast. Extra API blocks: +500 for €12. Extra users: €5/month (1 seat on Starter and Solution, 3 on Premium).
Pricing
A US shop should not pick this to save money versus Wave or Kick; there is no US list. A Spain autónomo who fits Starter pays €17/month after the intro, or €168/year (official '10 months' annual). That Starter cap (no bank feed, 30 scans, one user) will not hold a 5-person / ~500-txn shop. That shop is on Solution at €30/month after the intro, or €300/year, plus extra users at €5 each if more than one person logs in, extra banks at €5 after three accounts, and €10 per extra 50-scan pack. Premium is €59/month or €588/year when they want automatic rec, remittances, and the treasury board. New customers get 50% off monthly for three months (€8.50 / €15 / €29.50). Asesorías are quote-only. Optional setup is from €80 on the comparison table. Official cards do not print +IVA.

Pick something else instead of Quipu
QuickBooks Online
Stay in QuickBooks Online if you are a US shop, your CPA will only open that file, you need 1099s, US payroll, inventory, or classes. Quipu does not sit next to that file.
Wave
Pick Wave instead if you want a US (or Canada) cash-basis ledger with free invoicing and a Plaid bank feed on Pro. Quipu has no US edition.
FreshBooks
Pick FreshBooks instead if you want US invoice-first software that can sit closer to a US bookkeeper's workflow. Quipu's invoices are built for VeriFactu and Hacienda.
Kick
Pick Kick instead if you want a US replacement ledger that categorises bank and processor feeds and hands your CPA a year-end package, without a Spain tax engine.
