Our take
- Best for
- A US business or accounting firm that already keeps the books in QuickBooks Online or Xero and wants software to do the repeat bank-feed and document matching.
- Not ideal if
- Anyone who wants a new ledger, a human bookkeeper to own the close, or books that are not in QuickBooks Online or Xero.
- Standout
- It uses the bank feed already in QuickBooks Online or Xero, matches the documents in that file, and leaves the uncertain lines for a person.
About Booke
Booke (booke.ai) is software that works inside QuickBooks Online or Xero. You invite AI Bookkeeper as a user. It uses the bank feed already connected to that file. No second bank login. Each day it categorizes supported transactions, matches invoices, bills, and receipts, and asks for a document when your rules say one should be there. Low-confidence and unusual items come back to a person with a suggested treatment. In QuickBooks Online the reconciliation work is preparation. In Xero it can take supported reconciliation actions when the file is configured for them. QuickBooks Online or Xero stays the system of record. Booke is not a new ledger, and it does not include a team of accountants.
Kick, Digits, and Puzzle are ledgers you would move to. Bench and Pilot are services where people close the month. Booke is the other model: the file you already have, plus software that does the repeat bank-feed work. You still review exceptions and you still close. A shop that wants to leave QuickBooks or Xero, or that wants someone else to own the close, is looking at a different product.
Firms stick when the same vendors, the same documents, and the same bank-feed questions show up across client files, and they do not want another dashboard. Each client has its own learning from that file's history and from corrections the team confirms. The computer does not have to stay on. Booke runs the work on its own hosted setup after the invite.
Pricing
The US Business price is $129 per business per month. One company file is $129. Ten client files at the published rate are ten times that, unless the firm quote is lower, and that quote was not on the page. Adding a business mid-cycle is prorated, then included at renewal. An Annual control is on the pricing page, but no annual dollar amount was in the page. A Canadian pricing page lists C$159 per business per month; this listing uses the US page. No bookkeeper labor is included.
AI Bookkeeper (Business)

You still reconcile and close in QuickBooks Online or Xero. In QuickBooks, Booke prepares the bank feed. In Xero, it can post supported reconciliation actions, and a person still signs off.
The CPA opens the same QuickBooks Online or Xero file. Booke does not hand over a separate year-end package.
Features
- Work the QuickBooks Online bank feed
- Invite AI Bookkeeper into the QuickBooks Online company. It categorizes eligible bank-feed lines, matches them to invoices, bills, and receipts, and prepares reconciliation. It does not finish the close. Lines it is not confident about stay for your team. The existing QuickBooks bank feed stays; you do not add a separate bank connection for Booke.
- Work a Xero file, with a wider rec step
- Connect Xero once. Booke categorizes, matches documents, and can take supported reconciliation actions in cases Xero and your setup allow. Unsupported or uncertain items stay open. Booke tells you to read the Xero scope on its own, not as a copy of the QuickBooks workflow. Final review and close stay with a person in Xero.
- Match documents or request the missing ones
- When a transaction arrives, Booke looks at how that vendor was handled before and whether a document usually exists. If it finds a matching invoice or bill in QuickBooks Online or Xero, it matches it. If the document is missing and your rule expects one, it requests it. You set thresholds, such as which amounts need a receipt. OCR for bills, invoices, and receipts is on the Business plan.
- Exceptions stay with a person
- Low-confidence, unusual, split, duplicate, foreign-currency, and policy items are routed for review instead of treated as finished. Confirmed corrections feed that client file only. Booke says learning is not shared across clients. It will use up to two years of chart, vendor, transaction, document, and correction history, depending on the platform and setup. It does not show a confidence score as an accuracy guarantee.
- Firm rollout is a separate quote
- The published Business plan is per business. Accounting firms get a second offer: multi-client management, a white-label client experience, and priority onboarding, priced by request. Adding a business mid-cycle creates a prorated charge, then that business is included from the next renewal. The pricing page has an Annual/Monthly control, but the page HTML only showed $129 per business per month.
