Ledge
AI agents prepare your NetSuite close: recs, Excel workpapers, flux, and journals. You review. The books stay in the ERP.
Best for
Mid-market and small-enterprise accounting teams on NetSuite (or Sage Intacct as a source) that want agents to rebuild recs, Excel workpapers, flux, and journals so the close starts at review.
Not ideal if
Anyone who closes one QuickBooks Online or Xero file themselves. Ledge is quote-only close software, not a DIY ledger, and official FAQ says skip it if one person owns a simple single-entity close.
Standout
Agents output native Excel workpapers with live formulas, then draft the journal from that file, with posting blocked until someone approves in Ledge and again in NetSuite.
About Ledge
Ledge is close software with AI agents. It is not the ledger. You connect NetSuite (a certified SuiteApp) or Sage Intacct, plus banks and source systems. Agents pull the data, rebuild Excel workpapers with live formulas, draft flux, and prepare journal entries. You review and approve. Posting to NetSuite needs approval in Ledge and again in NetSuite. You still lock the period in the ERP.
That is the opposite of Kick (a replacement ledger) and closer to Numeric and FloQast (close work on the live file). Numeric is a close workspace on QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct, with live ERP on Growth and above. FloQast is the older checklist, rec, and journal-entry suite. Double is priced per QuickBooks Online or Xero client for bookkeeping firms. Ledge's job is the prep: agents rebuild the schedules and draft the journals so the team starts at review. Track is checklist-only (one ERP and one bank). Execute adds agent workpapers, continuous recs, flux, and drafted journals.
Teams that stick already have a real close: multiple entities, a preparer and reviewer path, and enough payment or subledger volume that the monthly Excel rebuild is the bottleneck. Named customers on the site are growth and fintech finance orgs (Melio, Lemonade, Papaya Global, Faye), not a five-person shop where the owner codes the bank feed. Public NetSuite threads cite Ledge for reconciling many payment providers into the ERP. Controllers who stay usually want the first-pass workpapers waiting before anyone logs in.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Payment-provider recon into NetSuite
Public NetSuite and fintech threads cite Ledge for matching many processors into the ERP when native tools and CSV imports fall short.
Exception review instead of line-by-line matching
The same threads describe time saved and issues found once matching sits outside NetSuite. Official rec FAQ: unmatched items are flagged, not force-matched.
Excel stays the workpaper
Official working-papers page: native .xlsx with live formulas, not a locked viewer. That is the reason controllers who already live in spreadsheets look at it.
What they hesitate about
Independent reviews are thin
r/Accounting close-tool threads still center on FloQast, Numeric, and BlackLine. Ledge shows up more in NetSuite payment-recon threads than as a full close suite.
Still framed as payment recon
A NetSuite commenter picked Ledge as a recon-only tool. Marketing is now full close agents. The older payments-ops product is still in the docs (cash application, PSP feeds).
Not for a simple one-person close
Official FAQ: skip it if one person owns a straightforward single-entity close, or if the pain is process, not volume.

This is the product. You run the checklist, recs, workpapers, flux, and journal approvals in Ledge, then lock the period in NetSuite (or the connected ERP). Track is status only.
Excel workpapers with source-data tabs, agent reasoning logs, and a task-level audit trail. Official pages say auditors can review those files. There is no year-end tax package from Ledge.

Features
Close checklist with an agent on each task
Import the existing close checklist. Assign a preparer, a reviewer, and (on Execute) an agent per task. Dependencies block work until the prior step is done. Slack, Teams, and email carry the reminders. Track is checklist and status only.
Excel workpapers with live formulas (Execute+)
Describe the schedule, or upload the file you already use. The agent rebuilds a native .xlsx with source-data tabs, rollforwards, and live formulas. You review before it becomes the period record. Official copy puts AI-generated workpapers on Execute.
Continuous account and payment recs (Execute+)
Agents match bank, subledger, intercompany, accrual, and deferred-revenue lines to the GL. Unmatched items go to an exception queue. Docs also cover PSP settlement feeds (Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, and others) into NetSuite. Track is one ERP and one bank, plus unlimited CSV.
Journal entries with dual NetSuite approval
Agents draft accruals, prepaids, intercompany, FX, and reclasses from the working paper. Nothing posts without approval in Ledge and a second approval in NetSuite. Official journal-entry FAQ calls that a hard constraint. Sage Intacct is documented as a data source, not as a posting path.
Flux from reconciled close data (Execute+)
Period-over-period variances on balance-sheet and P&L accounts, with drafted explanations tied to the recs and journals. You set materiality. Late entries trigger a new draft; an approved explanation is not overwritten without review.
Multi-entity close on NetSuite
Official close-orchestration FAQ: new NetSuite subsidiaries, GL accounts, and custom segments get the required rec and flux tasks. Entity-level and consolidated recs, journals, and reports are named on the pricing FAQ.
Pricing
Contact sales. Official pricing: one platform fee by workflow complexity, unlimited seats, no published implementation fee. Track is checklist-only. The useful product is Execute or Enterprise. A 5-person shop doing its own books should not be on this quote. Do not use third-party dollar estimates.

Platforms
Audience
Pick something else instead of Ledge
Numeric
Pick Numeric instead if you want the same close job and already live in QuickBooks Online or Xero (Growth), or you want a published Essentials checklist price.
FloQast
Pick FloQast instead if you want the older close-suite incumbent, recs that can stay in Excel tied to the live GL, and a named Xero connector.
Double
Pick Double instead if a bookkeeping firm closes many QuickBooks Online or Xero clients and wants published per-client prices.
QuickBooks Online
Stay in QuickBooks Online if you close one set of books yourself. Ledge sits on an ERP; it does not replace QBO, and QBO is not in the official ERP guides.
