Our take
- Best for
- Controllers who already close in NetSuite and need ASC 842 leases or a fixed-asset subledger that posts back to that general ledger.
- Not ideal if
- A company on QuickBooks Online or Xero that wants a close checklist, or a team with a handful of simple leases still fine in a workbook. Netgain is not a full ledger.
- Standout
- NetLease and NetAsset live in the NetSuite account and post lease and depreciation journals to that general ledger, instead of maintaining a second database.
About Netgain
Netgain is a set of NetSuite apps for the schedules that usually still live in a workbook. NetLease calculates lease amortization and right-of-use assets, handles modifications and early terminations, and posts the journals to the NetSuite general ledger. Disclosures cover ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87 and 96, and FRS 102. NetAsset tracks a fixed asset from acquisition through disposal, runs depreciation across books, and can capitalize construction in progress inside NetSuite. NetClose and NetCash are separate apps from the same vendor: close tasks, reconciliations, flux, and period lock, and bank and card matching, still inside NetSuite. Standalone NetLease and NetAsset exist when NetSuite is not the system. You still close and lock the period in the ledger.
FloQast and Numeric sit beside the ERP and run the close checklist, including for NetSuite teams. NetClose is the close piece that lives in the NetSuite account. On QuickBooks Online or Xero, FloQast or Numeric is the close layer, because NetClose requires NetSuite. NetSuite can already track fixed assets. NetAsset is the specialist register when you need more books, usage-based depreciation, or construction-in-progress build-ups. DataSnipper can still tie a lease PDF to a cell. It will not calculate the ASC 842 entry or post it.
Controllers keep Netgain when the lease portfolio or the asset register is the part of close that breaks in spreadsheets, and the rest of the books already live in NetSuite. The schedule and the journal sit in the same account the auditor is tying out. Accounting firms use it the same way, inside a client's NetSuite.
Pricing
The pricing page publishes no dollar amount. Packages are tailored, most apps need NetSuite, and NetLease and NetAsset are also sold standalone. A comparison post updated February 4, 2026 lists standalone NetLease as Essential free, Pro at $888 per year, and Enterprise by quote, and says the NetSuite version is custom. That post is not the pricing page. An older post said a free NetSuite tier covers up to three leases. The February post says up to 10, and does not list the limits. Confirm with sales. Training, extra implementation, and custom configuration cost more.
Custom
Controllers on NetSuite who need lease, fixed asset, close, or bank-rec apps. The pricing page tailors the package. NetSuite embedding is custom.
- NetLease and NetAsset as separate NetSuite apps
- NetClose and NetCash quoted on their own
- Standalone NetLease and NetAsset if you are not on NetSuite
- Support and updates included; training and extra implementation quoted

Lease and depreciation journals post into NetSuite during the close. If you also buy NetClose, tasks, reconciliations, flux, and period lock run there. You still close in the ledger. FloQast or Numeric remain the close layer if the ERP is not NetSuite.
NetLease disclosure reports and NetAsset rollforwards are the support you send. Tax Complete adds MACRS and other IRS depreciation forms inside NetSuite. There is no 1099 filing from these apps.
Features
- Post lease journals inside NetSuite
- NetLease, built as a NetSuite SuiteApp, calculates amortization and right-of-use assets and posts journals to the NetSuite general ledger. It covers ASC 842, IFRS 16, GASB 87 and 96, and FRS 102, including modifications, reassessments, and early terminations. Multibook and percentage-rent are add-ons.
- Depreciate fixed assets in the same account
- NetAsset keeps the register in NetSuite from acquisition through retirement, calculates depreciation across books, and links an asset to the source transactions. Documented add-ons include usage-based depreciation, multibook posting, maintenance, and Tax Complete for MACRS, Section 179 and 168, bonus depreciation, and IRS tax forms. Construction in progress can be capitalized in NetSuite.
- Run the close in NetSuite with NetClose
- NetClose is a separate SuiteApp for reconciliations, amortization, accruals, a task board, flux that flags period-over-period variances, and general-ledger locking after the period. Journals post to the NetSuite ledger. It is not included just because you bought NetLease.
- Match bank and card lines with NetCash
- NetCash matches bank and credit card activity to the NetSuite general ledger, including amounts that do not match one-to-one. Open-banking connections import transactions where a bank is supported. CSV import covers the rest. The pricing FAQ says the quote depends on transaction volume and how many bank accounts you connect. NetCash is a separate product from NetLease and NetAsset.
- Use standalone lease and asset apps off NetSuite
- The pricing page says most apps require NetSuite, and that NetLease and NetAsset are also sold standalone. A Netgain comparison post says standalone NetLease can export journals to CSV for an ERP upload, and that a QuickBooks API connects activity to QuickBooks. The NetSuite product pages do not describe that QuickBooks path.

Pick something else instead of Netgain
FloQast
Pick FloQast instead if the problem is the close checklist on NetSuite or another ERP, not the lease or asset subledger.
Numeric
Pick Numeric instead if you want month-end tasks and flux on QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite without a SuiteApp.
NetSuite
Pick NetSuite alone if the core fixed-asset screens in the ERP are enough and you do not need an ASC 842 subledger.
