Our take
- Best for
- Controllers and audit teams that need ASC 842, IFRS 16, or GASB 87 schedules tied to the contract, or a footing and version check on the financial statements.
- Not ideal if
- A shop that wants sales tax on the QuickBooks invoice, a close checklist, or a self-serve price, and anyone who expected Trullion to be the ledger.
- Standout
- Lease figures and statement checks stay linked to the source document, and Guided Assurance users can get a PPC-cited workpaper back in Engagement Manager.
About Trullion
Trullion is where a controller or an audit team works the lease file and the finished statements. You upload a PDF or Excel lease. Trullion reads names, dates, and payment terms, builds the schedule, and produces journal entries and disclosure reports. The lease page names ASC 842, IFRS 16, FRS 102, and GASB 87. Each extracted value is meant to trace back to the contract. Financial Statement Validation then foots and cross-foots the statements, ties disclosures to the tables, and compares a draft with the prior version or the prior year. You still post the entries and lock the period in your ledger.
DataSnipper stays inside Excel and ties a PDF figure to a cell. FloQast and Numeric run the close checklist on the ERP. Avalara, TaxJar, and Anrok calculate sales tax on an invoice. Trullion does not do those jobs. Audit Suite also pulls document fields into Excel-ready files and matches amounts for tests of details. Firms already on Thomson Reuters Guided Assurance can open a flagged statement in Trullion and get a workpaper with PPC citations back in Engagement Manager. An admin has to turn that link on, and each person needs a login to both products.
Teams keep it when the lease portfolio changes often enough that a spreadsheet schedule is the risk, or when reviewers are still ticking statement totals by hand. The trail is the reason: a disclosure figure can be opened back to the contract, and a statement check is saved for review.
Pricing
No plan names or dollar amounts on the homepage, lease page, audit suite, or about page. The lease FAQ says pricing reflects portfolio size, standards, and automation, and tells you to contact the team. A five-person shop with a handful of leases was not given a sticker price. A Trullion blog mentions lease software in general costing up to $1,000 a month; that sentence is not a Trullion price and is not used here.
Custom
Controllers and audit firms. The lease page says cost depends on portfolio size, standards, and automation, and tells you to contact the team. No dollar amount or plan name was published.
- Lease abstraction, schedules, journal entries, and disclosures
- Financial statement validation
- Audit Suite extract and match
- Optional Guided Assurance connection, plan eligibility not published
How it hits your books
- Replaces your ledger

You still post lease journal entries and lock the period in the ledger. Statement validation checks the draft you already produced; it does not run the bank rec or the close checklist.
The auditor can open the contract behind a lease figure, or, on Guided Assurance, receive a workpaper with PPC citations in Engagement Manager. You still send the ledger file. Trullion does not e-file income tax.
Features
- Upload the lease and get the schedule
- Upload a PDF or Excel contract. Trullion uses OCR to pull names, dates, payment terms, and other contract fields, then produces journal entries and disclosure reports. The lease page names ASC 842, IFRS 16, FRS 102, and GASB 87. Extracted values are meant to trace back to the source terms. No plan names or prices are on that page.
- Record a lease modification
- When a contract changes, you update it in Trullion instead of rebuilding the amortization schedule in a spreadsheet. The lease page says modifications are logged with the same trail back to the source terms.
- Foot and tie the financial statements
- Financial Statement Validation checks math, consistency between summary tables and footnotes, totals against supporting schedules, and alignment across statements. Each check is stored for review notes and sign-off. It checks statements you already have. It does not build them from the ledger.
- Compare a draft to last version or last year
- Run a version comparison across drafts of the same statements, or a year-over-year comparison, and review what moved. Reviewers use it so they are not re-ticking the whole document after a small edit.
- Extract fields and match audit samples
- Audit Suite Data Extract pulls fields from documents into Excel-ready files, including templates for the fields you need. Data Match is for vouching and tracing, including accounts payable matching. Trulli answers questions about documents already in the platform.
- Send a workpaper back to Engagement Manager
- If the firm uses Thomson Reuters Guided Assurance, a flagged statement can open in Trullion for math, consistency, version, and prior-year checks. Completed workpapers with PPC citations return to Engagement Manager. An admin must enable the link, each person needs both logins, and Trullion says access may depend on the plan.

Pick something else instead of Trullion
DataSnipper
Pick DataSnipper instead if the work is tying PDF evidence to Excel cells, not calculating a lease or footing a full statement set.
FloQast
Pick FloQast instead if you need a close checklist and reconciliations on NetSuite, Xero, or Sage Intacct.
Numeric
Pick Numeric instead if the close runs on QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct and you want the checklist, recs, and flux in one workspace.
