Everlance
Automatic GPS mileage, receipt photos, and a CSV or PDF log you export for taxes or reimbursement.
Best for
Gig drivers, realtors, and field reps who need an IRS-style mileage log from the phone and will export a file at tax time.
Not ideal if
Anyone who needs a live QuickBooks Online or Xero connector, a card program that declines overspend, or a replacement ledger.
Standout
Background GPS trip detection with a work/personal swipe, then a CSV, Excel, or PDF log you can email to a CPA.
About Everlance
Everlance is a mileage and expense app, not a ledger. You drive, the phone GPS logs the trip, and you swipe work or personal. Every plan lets you add receipts and manual expenses. On Professional you connect a bank or card through Plaid so new transactions land for classification (help says the look-back is about 90 days). You export a CSV on Basic, or Excel, CSV, or PDF on Starter and Professional, then type the totals into Schedule C or TurboTax, or email the file to a CPA. Close still happens in QuickBooks Online or Xero if you keep books there.
It does not replace QuickBooks Online or Xero. Help documents file export and manual entry, not a live connector. You can import a MileIQ or QuickBooks Self-Employed CSV into Everlance, which is the other direction. Expensify syncs coded reports to those books and reimburses by ACH. Easy Expense is another snap-and-export inbox with mileage. Hurdlr adds quarterly tax estimates and invoicing. Everlance's job is automatic trip detection plus, on Professional, in-app tax filing and advertised $1 million audit defense.
People who stick are gig drivers, realtors, and field reps who will not remember to start a timer. They swipe unclassified drives at the end of the day and keep an IRS-style log on the phone. They accept background location and a pile of trips to classify.
What people who used it say
What they tend to like
Drive and swipe later
Automatic detection means they do not start a timer. Classification is a swipe at the end of the day.
A log the accountant can open
CSV, Excel, or PDF exports, plus a Tax Center total to type into Schedule C or TurboTax.
Card feed next to miles
Professional users connect a bank or card so personal vs work spend is reviewed in the same app as the trip log.
What they hesitate about
Battery and phantom drives
Always-on GPS shortens the day. Play Store replies from the vendor acknowledge battery drain and false drives on standby.
Unclassified pile and commute splits
Auto-detect logs everything. Splitting a commute off a multi-stop work trip is clumsy if you cannot move the start or end pin.
Stops burn the free trip cap
A fuel or lunch stop can start a new auto trip, so the 30-trip Basic allotment goes faster than one long work day.

Classify leftover trips, export CSV, Excel, or PDF, then type mileage onto Schedule C or into TurboTax. A bookkeeper still recs the bank in QuickBooks Online or Xero.
Email a mileage and transaction export, or add the CPA as an additional recipient. Totals still get typed into the return. There is no documented live QBO or Xero push.

Features
Automatic GPS trip detection
The phone logs drives in the background. You swipe work or personal. Basic includes 30 auto-detected trips a month and unlimited manual trips. Starter and Professional unlock unlimited automatic tracking. App Store notes (v5.4.3) say extra Basic trips can still be saved and unlocked later.
Classify trips and set work hours
Label trips as work, personal, or charity. Starter and Professional add Work Hours so drives inside those windows auto-classify. You can also start and stop the GPS tracker by hand, or type a start and end address. Favorite-place recognition is on the paid comparison table.
Receipt photos and manual expenses
Photograph a receipt and attach it to an expense, or enter revenue and expenses by hand. Help lists unlimited receipt uploads and unlimited manual expense and revenue tracking on Basic. Custom categories and tags are on the feature table.
Plaid bank and card sync (Professional)
Link a checking or credit-card account through Plaid so new transactions import for work-vs-personal review. Help names Chase, Bank of America, Amex, and others, and says only about the last 90 days sync. This is not a live ledger bank feed. Business paid plans can turn the same bank connect on for the team.
Export the log, then enter taxes
Basic emails a CSV of trips and transactions. Starter and Professional add Excel and PDF plus filters by purpose or business line (DoorDash, Lyft, real estate). Tax Center shows mileage totals to type into TurboTax or Schedule C Line 9 and Line 44. You can send the export to a CPA from the dashboard.
Team reports, or Professional tax filing
Everlance Business lets employees submit GPS mileage and expenses; a manager reviews and approves from a dashboard. Paid team seats add unlimited auto trips and bank/card sync. Individual Professional adds in-app tax filing (help dated 11 Aug 2026 names TaxSlayer Classic) and advertised $1 million audit defense.
Pricing
A solo driver on Starter is $89.99/year, or $10.99/month if they stay monthly. Bank sync and tax filing need Professional at $119.99/year ($19.99/month). A 5-person team on published Business pricing is $60/month or $600/year. Seat overages are usually 25% above the seat price. Hidden costs: always-on GPS, a credit card for the 7-day Starter trial, and non-refundable paid terms.

Pick something else instead of Everlance
Expensify
Pick Expensify instead if employees pay out of pocket and you need approve-then-reimburse by ACH plus a documented QuickBooks Online or Xero sync.
Easy Expense
Pick Easy Expense instead if you want a cheaper freemium snap-and-export inbox (from $7.99/mo) and you do not need Everlance's Professional tax-filing bundle.
Hurdlr
Pick Hurdlr instead if you want quarterly tax estimates and invoicing in the same mileage app, not only a log you export at year-end.
QuickBooks Online
Pick QuickBooks Online instead if mileage should live in the ledger you already close, not in a companion app you re-type from a CSV.
