About MileIQ
MileIQ is a mileage log, not a ledger. You keep the phone in the car. The app records drives in the background from motion and location. You swipe right for business or left for personal, or let Work Hours and named locations classify the repeats. Add parking, tolls, and a purpose. Then you email a PDF or CSV (there is an optional QuickBooks-shaped CSV) and type the total into Schedule C or a mileage expense in QuickBooks Online or Xero. Close still happens in those books.
It does not replace QuickBooks Online or Xero. There is no live connector. Everlance also auto-tracks miles and, on Professional, pulls a bank card through Plaid. Hurdlr adds quarterly tax estimates. Expensify is the phone camera plus ACH reimbursement that can sync a report to those books. SAP Concur is the mid-market T&E suite a Teams admin can push a mileage report into. MileIQ's job is one swipe per drive and a file you can hand a CPA.
People who stick are realtors, field techs, and 1099 drivers who will not keep a glove-box notebook. They swipe unclassified trips at the end of the day and keep an IRS-style log on the phone. They accept always-on location and a 40-drive Free cap that a daily driver burns through in two weeks.

Short drives and wrong pins
Owners report hops under a few miles never logging, overlapping phantom drives, and a named place applying a couple of blocks away. Play reviewers also say the odometer does not tick after each trip.
GPS accuracy costs battery
Default detection can miss short hops. Turning on GPS in settings is more accurate and, per owner comments, chews the battery faster. Apple's listing warns background location can decrease battery life.

Automatic drive detection
The phone logs drives from motion and location without a start/stop button. You can still add a missed trip by typing start and end addresses on the web dashboard. The vendor drive-detection page says tracking can continue if cell service drops. Short hops still miss for some owners unless they turn GPS on, which uses more battery.
Swipe classify, Work Hours, named locations
Swipe right for business, left for personal. Set Work Hours so on-the-clock drives auto-mark Business. Name frequent spots (a Named Location covers about 0.4 miles). After the same route three times with the same label, MileIQ asks to auto-classify it. Bulk classify on dashboard.mileiq.com. Join can stitch a gas or food stop back onto one drive.
PDF and CSV reports, not a live ledger push
Email a monthly or annual report as PDF and CSV from the app or the web dashboard. An optional toggle exports a QuickBooks-compatible CSV. That is a file, not a live QuickBooks Online sync. Teams and Teams Pro let an admin see submitted reports in the dashboard. Teams Lite drivers email reports by hand.
Parking, tolls, notes, and more than one vehicle
Add parking and tolls on a drive card. Help lists those on the driver report. Add more than one vehicle and an odometer reading. Play Store reviewers say the odometer does not always update after each trip.
Teams: invite, approve, download
Create a team, email-invite drivers, and bill one card. Teams Lite is unlimited tracking plus add/remove drivers. Teams ($9/user/mo or $90/user/yr) adds the reporting dashboard. Teams Pro ($10/user/mo or $100/user/yr) adds approve/reject, commute deduct, Team Locations, report reminders, multiple admins, and a custom reimbursement rate. Admins see submitted Business drives only. No live GPS tracking. Teams is US, UK, and Canada.
Push a report to SAP Concur (Teams)
A Teams admin can enable SAP Concur with Client Web Services credentials (help updated 15 Aug 2025). Drivers link their Concur Employee ID. Then a report can go to Concur instead of only email. This is report push, not a post into QuickBooks Online or Xero.
Pricing
A solo driver on Free pays $0 until they hit 40 drives in a month, then Unlimited is $11.66/mo billed annually (about $140/yr; App Store IAP $139.99) or $13.99/mo. A 5-person shop on Teams Lite is $400/yr ($80 x 5) or $40/mo. Teams with a reporting dashboard is $450/yr. Teams Pro is $500/yr. Hidden costs: always-on location, the phone has to be in the car, and a bookkeeper still types the total into QuickBooks Online or Schedule C. Individual Unlimited is cheaper than five team seats if people only need their own tax log.
